July 3-13, 2014

San Diego International Fringe Festival

Tenth Avenue Arts Center Mainstage, San Diego CA

Cleveland's Cuyahoga River caught fire in the 1960s earning the nickname the "Burning River." Today, Cleveland is home to a vibrant arts and urban revitalization movement. For this production, San Diego native Shannon Sterne returns to her hometown to share small portion of the vitality that has come from one of America’s most economically depressed regions. "Burning on the River" includes works by Cleveland-area artists Sarah Morrison, the Founding Artistic Director of MorrisonDance; Kelli Sanford, the Founding Artistic Director of RED Company; former Pilobolus dancer and emerging choreographer Annika Sheaff, currently with GroundWorks Dance Theater; and Shannon Sterne, the Founder of the Cleveland Dance Exchange (CDX).
