Cleveland Dance Exchange
About CDX
The Cleveland Dance Exchange is a collective of dance artists from Cleveland and the surrounding communities. CDX was founded in the summer of 2013 by Kelly Clymer, Dezaré Foster, and Shannon Sterne with the goal of strengthening Cleveland’s dance community by providing a platform for established and emerging performers and artists to collaborate, exchange ideas, and share their work. Unlike a traditional dance company comprised of dancers hired to fulfill a singular artistic vision, CDX collaborators come together for project-based work. CDX enjoyed a premiere performance at Cleveland Public Theatre’s annual “Pandemonium” benefit quickly followed by an invitation to perform at the OhioDance Festival. In July 2014, CDX received critical acclaim at the San Diego International Fringe Festival for the production "Burning on the River," which included works by four Cleveland-area choreographers.
